General Summary:
Reports to the Recruiting and Benefits Coordinator Recruiting and Benefits Coordinator
Primary Responsibility:
The Recruiting and Benefits Coordinator aids with and facilitates the human resource processes at all business locations. This role administers employee health and welfare plans and acts as liaison between employees and insurance providers. This position resolves benefits-related problems and ensures effective use of plans and positive employee relations. The coordinator will take part in the hiring from onboarding to off-boarding. The Recruiting and Benefits Coordinator will attract candidates, evaluating resumes, scheduling, and interviewing and managing the hiring paperwork.
Essential Functions:
- Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files
- Assists with recruitment and interview process. Tracks the status of candidates in HRIS and responds with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process
- Files documents into employee files
- Prepares new-employee files
- Assists with processing of new hires and terminations
- Use recruiting tools like tests and assignments to assess candidates’ skills
- Consult with managers to discover staff requirements and specific job objectives
- Contact new employees and prepare onboarding sessions
- Attend job fairs and careers events
- Submits online investigation requests and new-employee background checks
- Administers health and welfare plans, including enrollments, processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions
- Reconciles benefits statements
- Conducts audits of payroll in relations to benefits
- Schedules Benefits meetings and interviews as requested
- Makes photocopies; mails, scans, and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience
• One year of experience as a Recruiting Coordinator or Recruiter
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift to 15 pounds
