General Summary:

Senior Warehouse Operations Manager

Reporting to the Sr Warehouse Operations Manager, the Inventory Manager supports the management of finished goods, excess, obsolete and packaging inventory. The candidate is tasked with managing stock levels and stock provisions in conjunction with demand planning. This position is a key driver in ensuring that adequate inventory is available to fulfill customer demand, while minimizing inventory costs.

Primary Responsibility:

  • Oversees team of inventory or warehouse employees.
  • Manages inventory tracking system to record deliveries, shipments, and stock levels.
  • Evaluates deliveries, shipments, and product levels to improve inventory control procedures.
  • Analyzes daily product and supply levels to anticipate inventory problems and shortages.
  • Manages schedules of employees, deliveries, and shipments to optimize operations.
  • Communicates with inventory employees to meet business goals and address personnel issues.
  • Acquire forecasts for all finished goods inventory and translates those forecasts into an inventory deployment plan, collaborating with Procurement & Category Management partners to ensure the inventory is managed according to constraints and targets that are aligned with the business strategy.
  • Establish critical inventory parameters (such as ABC and Safety Stock settings, replenishment quantity, and launch quantity), considering constraints and input, such as lead time and order cycle time.
  • Monitor and track inventory levels and reconcile inventory variances using all available resources to identify root causes and supply possible solutions.
  • Ensure all inventory metrics are met. Identify action items, marshal resources to address action items and follow up on all inventory-related issues to full resolution.
  • Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize customer service.
  • Develop and maintain inventory planning assumptions in conjunction with purchasing, and category management teams, including safety stocks, lead times, order quantities, and promotions.
  • Will lead teams to conduct physical inventory counts/verification on a regular basis.
  • Will conduct audits of consignment and/or other inventories at third party locations.
  • Measure, analyze and report key process metrics, and monitor adherence to key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Manages the recruitment and training of new inventory employees.

Education and Experience:

  • 4-year College Degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering
  • 5+ years of Inventory Planning and/or Supply Chain experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Supply chain/operations certification a plus, such as APICS, CPIM or lean
  • Excellent level of written and spoken English
  • Proven success in leading teams or processes
  • Proven history of successfully working with all levels
  • Project management certification a plus
  • Database experience required
  • Excellent analytical skills in problem solving

  • Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions
  • Occasionally exposed to extreme heat or cold (non-weather)
  • Frequently exposed to loud noise (examples: forklifts, large trucks)
  • Specialized equipment, machines, or vehicles used: battery powered pallet jacks, batter powered lift trucks, hand trucks, & lift-gates
