General Manager
Number of Openings: 1 - Start Date: Immediate

General Summary:
Reports to the Chief Executive Officer

The General Manager is accountable for management and oversight of the entire warehouse and distribution center operations. Responsible for meeting company financial and operational objectives, creating a best-in-class shopping experience and setting the highest standards in customer service.

Primary Responsibility:
Responsible for leading a 100+ employee warehouse and distribution team that includes a “cash and carry” operations, meeting stated efficiency goals, maintaining customer satisfaction and assuring a safe, clean and rewarding work environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees marketing department to ensure proper push/pull through of inventory
  • Directs operations department to make certain all warehouse and distribution efficiency and safety standards are being met
  • Manages retail departments daily workflow to ensure optimum service levels are maintained with Customers
  • Leads meetings with management teams to foster communication and discuss business improvement opportunities
  • Attends cross-functional meetings to ensure consistent communication and address any company concerns
  • Monitors and ensures that all security procedures are being adhered to and promotes safe work practices
  • Ensures completion of all necessary government and industry regulation requirements and identifies any equipment training needs
  • Works with Warehouse Management System software and developers to improve controls and processes across all distribution center departments
  • Assists with the budget process
  • Ensures overtime and operational costs remain within budget
  • Performs all duties inherent in the role of General Manager including hiring, termination, review and development of associates
  • Fosters the company culture to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of company’s mission
  • Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required

Experience and Skills:

  • 6-10 years of experience in warehouse and distribution management
  • 2-3 years of experience in a leadership role
  • 2-3 years of experience retail management
  • Excellent analytical skills and insight
  • Planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, or equivalent business experience
  • Should have an outstanding knowledge of warehouse and distribution software
  • Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools

Physical Requirements:

  • Long hours of standing or walking
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs

Customer Service Manager

General Summary:
Reports to the General Manager

Accountable for the retail and customer service operations within the tobacco and grocery departments. Manages, trains and develops all front end employees. Manages all customer needs. Responsible for maintaining a full staff of Customer Service team, cashiers and carry out. Ensures that the warehouse front End is staffed and clean at all times. Supports floor and tobacco supervisor.

Primary Responsibility:
Responsible for all daily retail operations. Trains and develops all front end employees. Fosters a clean and safe work environment. Ensures customers are 100% satisfied with their shopping experience.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides customer service by greeting and assisting customers, and responding to customer inquiries and complaints
  • Directs and supervises employees engaged in sales, inventory stocking, reconciling cash receipts and performing services for customers
  • Monitors sales activities to ensure that customers receive satisfactory service and quality goods
  • Responsible for all monetary activities including distribution of money trays
  • Instruct staff on how to handle difficult and complicated sales
  • Trains front end staff and evaluate their performance
  • Assigns employees to specific duties
  • Enforces safety, health, and security rules
  • Ensures product is correctly priced and registers function properly
  • Performs customer service center duties including; money orders, phone cards, gift cards, account payments and merchandise returns
  • Answers customers' questions about merchandise and advises customers on merchandise selection
  • Ensures clean and operable check-stands and maintains shopping carts

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum 3 yrs experience managing in a retail environment
  • Skilled in managing money and performing transactions
  • Ability to communicate clearly with employees, customers, and vendors

Marketing/Procurement Manager

General Summary:
Reports to Vice President

Responsible for sourcing products and goods, manages supplier relationships and performs strategic procurement activities across multiple categories.

Primary Responsibility:
Leads and executes procurement strategies and manages supply partners. Tracks and reports key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve profitability.

Essential Functions:

  • Sources reliable suppliers who provide quality goods at competitive prices
  • Negotiates product costs with suppliers
  • Manages suppliers contracts in accordance with company policies
  • Reviews technical specifications for implementation into company warehouse management system
  • Determines quantity and timing of deliveries
  • Forecasts demand and analyzing consumer buying patterns
  • Manages, trains, develops and evaluates purchasing department staff
  • Analyzes all shipment and supplier performance
  • Manages departmental budget and objectives, assigns projects and generates status reports
  • Coordinates purchasing department objectives with cross functional departments
  • Coordinates and implements value added projects from idea to implementation
  • Monitors and ensures smooth transition of new product launches
  • Provides management with performance summaries
  • Supports quality control and regulatory compliance

Buyer

General Summary:
Reports to Procurement Manager

Assists in the development and maintenance of SKU data. Fosters strong business relationship with suppliers and support of Procurement Manager.

Primary Responsibility:
Responsible for monitoring and reporting product inventory quantities and to efficiently meet customer needs. Monitors all pertinent SKU data for accurate costs, sales, placement and inventory control.

Essential Functions:

  • Analyze costs, track inventory levels, and build recommendations as a result of analysis
  • Communicates with Vendors on any revisions or changes expressed by the buyers
  • Manages changes to purchase orders
  • Evaluates sales records and inventory levels for forecasting
  • Assists in the procurement of SKUs
  • Prepares analytical reports on inventory performance
  • Assists in the preparation of expense statements and budgeting
  • Resolves all customer product issues
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • 2-3 years experience in consumer goods purchasing

Receiving Supervisor

General Summary:
Reports to General Manager

Plans, organizes, and monitors all receiving functions. Responsible for movement and storage of all products received from suppliers. Ensures a smooth and consistent operation so products are located and distributed to proper departments in an effective and efficient manner.

Primary Responsibility:
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in receiving and stocking of inventory. Verifies all record keeping on incoming and outgoing shipments. Ensures all deliveries are properly input into warehouse management system.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for inventory controls
  • Determines space requirements and placement of incoming products
  • Directs proper handling of products
  • Oversees incoming and outgoing activities to insure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments
  • Processes incoming and outgoing delivery documentation
  • Maintains proper staffing levels
  • Interviews, hires and trains employees
  • Plans, assigns and directs work appraises performance and rewards or disciplines employees
  • Provides hands on assistance to workers in receiving activities as needed
  • Manages multiple forklift operators and receivers
  • Ensures a safe and clean work place
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the policies and applicable laws
  • Enforces safety, health, and security rules

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 5-year experience in receiving management or similar
  • Experienced in working with warehouse management systems
  • Ability to communicate clearly with employees, customers, and vendors
  • Excellent analytical skills
